Wind Blows at 40
Cartoon Brew has published a special feature celebrating the 40th anniversary of the U.K. theatrical release of When the Wind Blows.
I’ve previously blabbed about my experience working on the film, speaking to Twilight Time producer Nick Redman for the film’s 2014 Blu-ray release. In my early 20s, the film gobbled me up for a year and a half while I ran the cutting room, secretly reading Lord of the Rings and working on my screenplays, during animation production at TVC in London.
This time, Jamie Lang the publisher at Toon Brew invited me to cook up a special feature. My idea: rather than rehash my Blu-ray blather, I reconnected with friends to recall auld lang syne, and I shook the bushes to find some never-before-seen images. My special thanks to Paul, Richard, Loraine, Taylor, Mark, Noel and Sé Merry Doyle for those treasures.
